Handmade Glass Art
Kokomojo is the nickname that was given to me by the first fire department that I belonged to. The nickname was created accidentally by the combination of two nicknames. The Deputy Chief's nickname for me was “Koko” which was the name of his favourite entertainer and the Captain nicknamed me “Mojo” the little wrapped penny candy. During a water rescue practice (SCUBA diving) the two men called out the nickname at the same time and that was the birth of Kokomojo.
The passion for lampworking came alive when I first sat down in front of a torch – the torch was not the only thing that was ignited that day. That was it! I was hooked; an instant addict to glass. After several years of fighting fires, I now play with fire to create unique glassworks.
All glassworks are handmade in the province of Alberta, Canada. Each custom-made piece is annealed in a digitally controlled kiln for durability and are thoroughly cleaned and inspected for excellence.
